Attendance is everyone’s responsibility.

Being in education is vital to your child’s achievement, wellbeing and wider development. We aim to equip students with the tools they need day to day and ready for their post-16 journey, such as college, apprenticeships or work. Missing just one day in education means that your child misses 5 hours worth of education, which means, one day a week adds up to 190 hours of missed learning over the academic year!

As a provision, we work hard to support our students in consistently attending and engaging well. We understand that some students find it harder than others to attend education; therefore, we will continue to prioritise cultivating a safe and supportive environment at Crisp, as well as strong and trusting relationships with students and their families along with referrers and external agencies.

Strong communication is key to support our students with attendance. We will have regular conversations with students and their families to offer in house support and refer to external agencies where appropriate.

Recognising good and improving attendance:

At Crisp Vocational Provision, it is important that we not only recognise and reward those students who are here every day, but also those students who are working hard to improve their attendance. This allows us to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of an individual.

Rewards can include:

    • Gift vouchers
    • Trips
    • Additional wages
